Farhad Fozdar

With over 20 years professional experience in the ICT industry, Farhad's
background covers electronics, software, telecommunications, and more
recently technology commercialisation. He has consulted to local firms and
tertiary institutions including UWA and ECU, as well as national clients
including Telstra and CSIRO, and relocated to Germany for 5 years as a
consultant to industrial giant Siemens AG.
Farhad was a co-founder of QPSX, an early technology spin-out from the
University of WA, and was involved in the development and standardisation of
it's Metropolitan Area Network technology by the IEEE. He managed the
company's network management group, supervising 10 software developers.
Recently Farhad returned to QPSX as Technology Manager where he was
responsible for the technical review of commercialisation opportunities for
QPSX and its clients, and briefed its legal and business advisors in the US,
UK, and Germany on technology issues.
In addition to purely technical work, Farhad is actively engaged in the
associated business processes including product and project management, IP
protection, and capital raising. His recent work includes reviewing the IP
portfolios of private and public research organisations to extract
commercial value through product development, ventures and assertion.
Farhad is an active member of the IEEE and ACS, and serves on the ACS WA
Branch Executive Committee. He is also a member of the Australian
Telecommunication CRC's Executive Research Committee.
